Arsenal flop Albert Sambi Lokonga hints he could leave the club: "I will try to go somewhere..."

He could be off.

Arsenal's Albert Sambi Lokonga has hinted he will leave the club this summer.

So far, the Gunners have been busy in the transfer market. The club have already confirmed the signing of Chelsea's Kai Havertz for £65million, while they have agreed a £105million fee for West Ham's Declan Rice.

Talks are reportedly continuing between the Hammers and Arsenal over the structure of the deal, however should the move be finalised it would be a massive statement of intent from Mikel Arteta's men.

Indeed, Arsenal's offer for Rice would smash the club's transfer record - the £72million they paid Lille for Nicolas Pepe in 2019.

And while Rice and Havertz's arrivals could signal the departures of both Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka, Lokonga's place in the midfield pecking order would remain precarious.

The Belgian has now hinted he could also depart Arsenal this summer.

Lokonga to leave Arsenal

Lokonga, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Crystal Palace, has stressed he wants to play regularly next term.

When asked about his future, Lokonga responded in an interview on Wonhee hyung: "I don’t know. I will try to go somewhere where I can play so that’s the most important thing for me - to have some games and play game after game."

Lokonga only made 15 appearances for Arsenal last term before being shipped out to Palace on loan.

In south London the Belgian thrived until the untimely dismissal of manager Patrick Vieira, and barely featured under the interim boss Roy Hodgson.

According to The Sun Arsenal are now trying to sell Lokonga to Burnley, yet the clubs are finding it difficult to strike a permanent deal. In turn, the publication claims a loan move may be more likely.
