The pair would be useful additions.

With the summer transfer window fast approaching, Mikel Arteta has some important decisions to make regarding his squad.

The Gunners have a Champions League place guaranteed next season, with Brighton mathematically unable to catch them up in the Premier League.

And in preparation for the busy European schedule, Arteta is in need of reinforcements.

Declan Rice has been heavily rumoured with a move to the Emirates. While Moises Caicedo is thought to remain on their watchlist.

However, the latest reports have linked former Arsenal midfielder Yunus Musah with a shock return to north London.

Musah to Arsenal?

Musah was part of Arsenal's famous Hale End academy before making the switch to Valencia in 2019.

The 20-year-old midfielder has impressed in Spain. But with Valencia at risk of relegation, he may consider a move elsewhere - with a number of clubs keeping tabs on the USA international.

Speaking on the player's situation, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano told Caught Offside: "I’ve mentioned Arsenal and Chelsea’s interest in Yunus Musah and it is the case that they are following Musah since January; Inter as well.

"At the moment it’s just scouting and not advanced yet, but Musah has good chances to move this summer."

Although initial reports claimed that Musah's contract includes an eye-watering £90 million release clause which could put suitors off.

Musah isn't the only youngster on Arteta's radar, with the Spaniard also closely monitoring Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi.

Guehi to Arsenal?

William Saliba's absence could be looked back on as one of the defining reasons why Arsenal missed out on the Premier League title.

Indeed, a lack of depth in that position has left Arteta in dire need of new defenders to help bolster his back line.

Meanwhile, Guehi has been identified as a potential addition. The 22-year-old has enjoyed an excellent season at Selhurst Park, with the Eagles' Premier League safety all but guaranteed.

Speaking on the England international, Romano revealed: “There’s nothing advanced with Arsenal and Marc Guehi, but they are monitoring him, it’s just normal scouting.

"No decision has been made and there’s nothing concrete at this stage on Guehi but many top clubs are following him.”
