Peter Crouch has reassured fans that he is alive and well after fans had hilariously speculated that he had been wheeled out in a ‘body bag’ live on TV.
Earlier this week Liverpool had just ensured they remained within touching distance of Manchester City, defeating Southampton 2-1 as we head into the final day of the Premier League season.
Following the game, Sky Sports pundits Jamie Carragher, Jamie Redknapp and Kelly Cates were on the field giving their analysis of the match – but it was their fellow Sky Sports presenter who caused a stir on social media.
As Saints players and families did a lap of honour after the final game of the season at St. Mary's, the groundsmen were seen putting the pitch away in the background.

They were wheeling along a lengthy black cover that very much resembled a huge body bag big enough to fit the two-metre tall former striker.
One Twitter user pointed out the hilarious coincidence causing fans on Twitter to be in stitches.
The user tweeted: “Thought Peter Crouch had died for a sec.”
While another replied: “You win Twitter tonight.”

As a bloke concluded: “Funniest tweet in a long time.”
Meanwhile, one pointed out that perhaps the potential ‘body bag’ wouldn’t have even been able to carry the giant striker, adding: “Only realised when you didn’t see his feet sticking out at the end.”
The original tweet went viral with more than 130k likes and 10k retweets, catching the attention of the big man himself.
Crouchy put everyone's grave concerns to bed, tweeting: “I’m ok guys thanks for your concern.”
Crouch has become somewhat of a cult figure for football fans for his antics both on and off the pitch.

The former England international was famously asked by an interviewer: “What would you be if you weren’t a footballer?”
To which he replied: “A virgin.”
Meanwhile, his post-goal robot dance will undoubtedly go down as one of the most iconic celebrations of all-time.
Crouch was capped 42 times by the Three Lions and scored 167 goals across his professional career, 53 coming from his head.

His height was always a dominating aspect of his playing style before he retired in July 2019, finishing his career at Burnley.
Crouchy's towering presence means he's still getting grief to this day as he continued to emerge as one of the most well-loved personalities in the game.
His fellow pundit Joe Cole recently spoke on Crouch’s That Peter Crouch Podcast, saying: “Whenever they set us up, I should always be closest to the camera.”
