Australia fan goes viral for hilarious World Cup moment, fans think he could be in big trouble

An Aussie football fan has gone viral after his hilarious reaction to seeing himself on the big screen in Qatar went viral.

As the Socceroos took on France in their opening fixture of the World Cup, the camera panned to a few Aussie fans sitting in the stands.

The camera stopped on one particular fan whose face looked blank and in shock.

While only the sound of the cheering crowd could be heard, the words that came out of the man’s mouth were very clear.

His lips read: “Jesus, we’re on the f**king tele.”

It doesn’t get more Aussie than that.

People online quickly caught hold of the clip and were in hysterics.

One fan wrote: “Surely everybody heard this in an Aussie accent…right?”

Another said: “Can take the man out of Australia, but can’t take the Australian out of the man.”

A third added: “Most Aussie football fan ever.”

Fans were also quick to catch on that perhaps the man wasn’t where he had told people he would be.

One football fan said: “That’s the look of someone who told their partner that they were away on business.”

Another added: “Oops, and my boss thinks I am sick.”

A third wrote: “I'm really sorry love, I have to go away with work for a month. I know I'm gonna miss our anniversary but I really can't get out of it.”

Whether it be the boss or the partner, that man certainly looked panicked when he was on the TV.

We hope that if he has been caught out then at least the trip to Qatar will be worth it.

The Socceroos will have to make it up to him after suffering a 4-1 loss to reigning world champions France.

The Australian side opened the scoring in what was a moment of pure ecstasy for the Socceroos.

However, France soon pegged them back as the floodgates opened.

Australia’s next fixture comes up against Tunisia on Saturday (AEDT), where a loss would all but confirm their exit from the World Cup.

They’ll then be facing Denmark in their final game of the group.

At least if they don’t make it out of the group that man can return to work early and hopefully avoid any trouble.
