Barcelona Have Agreed Move For Manchester City Forward

Barcelona Have Agreed Move For Manchester City Forward

Xavi is looking to bolster Barcelona attacking line up, with Sergio Aguero's future still undecided, and they've got their eyes on a target.

Barcelona are looking for a forward this January, with Sergio Aguero potentially set to retire, and they've reportedly already agreed a move for one Manchester City player.

Barca were already wanting to bolster their front line before Aguero's recent health problems, which have led to rumours he's ready to retire, just months after joining them.

With that in mind the need for a forward has only sped up at Barca who, despite their well known financial problems, have been repeatedly linked with a move for Raheem Sterling this January, amidst the England player's struggles to get into the first team.

Though Sterling has long been the target, it now seems another City player could be heading to the Nou Camp, with reports that Ferran Torres could move.

According to Spanish outlet Marca, there has already been talks between the Spain forward's agent and Barca about the move with an agreement already in place.

Whilst those two parties may have agreed over a move, Barcelona are yet to find and agreement with City, and there's no guarantee that will happen.

The Spanish giants aren't out of the financial problems that caused Lionel Messi to leave the club and forced several players to take large pay cuts.

Xavi could be forced to sell members of his squad if he wants to improve it in other areas, with Frenkie de Jong apparently available for sale.

The club could also make money by selling one of their young superstars, with Bayern Munich interested in a huge deal for Pedri, that would break the German's record fee for a signing.

Torres is reportedly ready to make the move to La Liga as he believes he would be given an important role at the squad, that he doesn't think he could get at the Etihad.

Pep Guardiola started the former Valencia winger at the beginning of the season but he dropped out of the first XI before picking up an injury.

The 21-year-old is still out injured whilst Bernardo Silva has re-established himself as an important part of the team and Phil Foden, Riyad Mahrez, Jack Grealish, Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling are also above Torres in the pecking order.

Torres should return to fitness at the beginning of 2022, which would be perfect timing to make his move in the January transfer window...
