Barcelona Lead Real Madrid In Race To Make Huge Free Signing

Barcelona Lead Real Madrid In Race To Make Huge Free Signing

Real Madrid have been linked with some huge free transfers in the summer but they could be beaten to one of them by La Liga rivals Barcelona

Barcelona could be set to beat Real Madrid to a huge free signing this summer, with Los Blancos targeting an incredible list of cheap deals.

Real didn't make many signings last summer, just bringing in Eduardo Camavinga and David Alaba, with the latter moving after his Bayern Munich deal expired, with the defender believed to be an nearly £400,000-a-week!

The Spanish giants are expected to have a huge summer next year though, although they're hoping to wrap up a number of deals without a transfer fee.

Kylian Mbappe is their number one target, but Real have also been strongly linked with taking Paul Pogba and Antonio Rudiger to the Bernabeu, with all three set to be out of contract in July.

Real also retain an interest in AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie, who has also been linked with Manchester United in the past, but they look to set to miss out to their rivals.

According to El Nacional, Kessie favours a move to Barca because he believes that he will be more integral to their team and more likely to play.

With Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Fede Valverde, Casemiro and Camavinga all at Real, the Ivorian thinks it will be harder to break into the first team.

Barca on the other hand have a string of exciting youngsters in their midfield but could look to add some experience and steel to the centre of the park.

They were hoping to sign Georginio Wijnaldum on a free transfer last summer but the former Liverpool man instead moved to Paris Saint-Germain.

Kessie would likely be turning down the offer of more money if he decided to pick Barca over Real Madrid but the game time would be more important.

The 24-year-old could have even more opportunities at the Nou Camp, with Frenkie de Jong linked with a move away from the club.

Though United, and other Premier League teams have been linked with Kessie he may decide that he wants to avoid moving to England, after being rinsed the other night.

Liverpool centre back Nat Phillips sent Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the Milan midfielder for a hot dog during the Champions League game between the two sides.
