Barcelona Now Want Chelsea Trio In The Summer

Barcelona Now Want Chelsea Trio In The Summer

Barcelona had previously been linked to two Chelsea players in the summer transfer window but are now after a third player from the Blues.

Barcelona are formulating plans for their summer transfer business, and the Spanish giants have added a third Chelsea defender to their wish list.

It's been a very tough season for Barcelona so far, starting with the need to let Lionel Messi go back in the summer, with their financial problems not letting them re-sign the club's all time top scorer to a new contract.

Things have improved financially, as the club have cut the wage bill, allowing them to bring in Ferran Torres, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Adama Traore and Dani Alves this winter.

With Ousmane Dembele set to leave on a free at the end of the current campaign, freeing up his wages, Xavi will look to improve his side once again in the off season.

They could still be shopping in the reduced isle of the market and that's why they've been linked with three Chelsea players who are all out of contract.

Having previously been linked with Andres Christiansen and Cesar Azpilicueta, 'transfer insider' Dean Jones claims Barca are now interested in Antonio Rudiger as well.

All three men are out of contract in June and can already start negotiations with teams outside of the Premier League, and even sign a pre contract agreement.

Rudiger had reportedly asked for £200,000-a-week, believing he was worthy of similar wages to the best defenders in the world, but the Blues were short of their offer.

The German has no doubt improved the team's defence since being brought back in by Thomas Tuchel, after Frank Lampard prefered Kurt Zouma.

His demands not being met have led to rumours linking him with Real Madrid, but reports had claimed that Los Blancos also wouldn't meet the wages the 28-year-old wanted, and PSG also want him.

One player who might not be heading to the Nou Camp on a free transfer is PSG midfielder, and former Barca academy star, Xavi Simons.

The 18-year-old, who only moved to the French capital in 2021, is expected to leave in the summer, and agent Mino Raiola has talked up a return to Barcelona.

However, Lionel Messi has reportedly advised former teammate, and current Barca manager, Xavi Hernandez not to sign the midfielder who shares his first name.
