Barcelona could be in for a busy January transfer window

Barcelona are set to listen to offers for three first-team stars as they prepare for a potentially busy January transfer window.

In the summer, Barcelona spent big as they brought in the likes of Jules Kounde, Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha and Franck Kessie.

However, it has been reported that the Catalan club are willing to listen to offers for three players, including summer signing Raphina, who joined from Leeds in a deal worth £55 million. The Brazilian has been underwhelming since his move and often found himself on the bench behind first-choice right winger Ousmane Dembele.

According to Spanish journalist Jose Alvarez, Barcelona are also listening to offers for two other players in addition to Raphinha.

One of the players mentioned was Ansu Fati, who is Barcelona’s youngest-ever goal scorer after scoring his first goal when he was just 16. However, his development has been badly hampered by a serious injury, he ruptured the inner meniscus in his left knee and was sidelined for months after surgery.

Fati ended up having four knee surgeries within the space of six months. Orthopaedic surgeon, Dr Llobet said, via The Athletic: “Four operations on the knee are too many.

“Not only the meniscus has suffered, but also the cartilage. Recovering from this is very difficult. Besides, he has had other muscle injuries probably related to this.”

Ferran Torres is also facing an uncertain future at the Camp Nou, the forward joined Barcelona from Manchester City back in 2020 but has somewhat struggled to show the form that justifies his £54 million price tag.

Torres came on in the 57th minute during the 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid on Sunday. However, he was sent off in the second minute of stoppage time after a WWE-style tussle with Atletico centre-back Stefan Savic.

Manager Xavi hinted about his transfer plans last week, he said: “We are who we are and we are happy. This team are winners. They want to win and they show me in every training session. I am very happy with what I have.”
