Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich did Marcus Rashford’s celebration after scoring stunning equaliser

Joshua Kimmich rescued a point for Bayern Munich in spectacular style

Joshua Kimmich pulled out Marcus Rashford’s celebration after scoring a stunning equaliser during Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga clash with FC Koln.

On Tuesday evening, league leaders Bayern made hard work of what was thought to be a routine victory over mid-table side Koln.

A sixth-minute goal by Ellyes Skhiri gave the away side a shock lead, but they were cruelly denied right at the death by a goal of the season contender by Kimmich.

The German star unleashed an astonishing effort from 35 yards out which fired into the back of Koln goalkeeper Marvin Schwabe’s net.

After his goal, Kimmich pulled out Rashford’s signature celebration where he gestured by pointing to his head.

Rashford first did the now-famous celebration during Manchester United’s 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers last month.

The England international previously explained his celebration was an ode to his clearer head space under the guidance of new boss Erik ten Hag.

He said: “It’s a completely different energy around the club and the training ground.

“That puts me in a better headspace and I just feel really motivated now. That’s the area I was struggling in.

“I was struggling at times with more mental things. It wasn’t really my own performance but other things off the pitch. That’s the biggest difference from last season.

“Too often last season, I wasn’t in the right headspace for games. I wasn’t surprised by some of the stuff that was happening.”

Rashford has been United’s stand-out player this season having scored 17 and assisted six in 28 appearances across all competitions.

Ten Hag will be hoping that the forward can continue this fine run of form as they look to sustain their challenge in all four major trophies.

United are in action on Wednesday night as they take on Nottingham Forest in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi final.
