Bayern Munich Ready To Quadruple Pedri's Barcelona Wages

Bayern Munich Ready To Quadruple Pedri's Barcelona Wages

The Golden Boy winner might have only just signed a new deal at Barcelona but their Champions League rivals want to sign him for huge sums.

Bayern Munich are targeting the signing of Golden Boy winner Pedri from Barcelona, despite the youngsters ridiculous transfer release clause.

Last season Pedri launched onto the scene with his incredible performances for Barca, despite being in just his first season in the Spanish top tier after signing from Las Palmas.

The teenager impressed so much he played at Euro 2020 for Spain, and then the Olympics, in a ridiculously long season where he became the important creative fulcrum for both club and country and played 70 times in 11 months.

That form earned the 18-year-old a new deal at the Nou Camp lasting until 2026, with Barca adding a huge £830 million release clause to keep away other teams.

However, that reportedly hasn't worked with Bayern ready to make a move for the midfielder, according to AS, with the German's ready to quadruple he player's wages.

Whilst the Bundesliga champions wouldn't get close to the player's transfer release clause, they are believed to be ready to break their record for a transfer.

Currently Lucas Hernandez €80 million move from Atletico Madrid in 2019 is currently the club's, and league's, most expensive signing of all time.

Pedri could cost significantly more, considering how well his career has started and exactly how long left he still has at the top level, which could be another 15 years.

He is already considered the best young player in the world, having been named this year's Golden Boy earlier this week, beating Jude Bellingham to the title.

Whilst Xavi wouldn't want to lose such a talented player, Barca's financial problems could lead to the club be willing to sell him, even if the manager isn't keen.

The loss of Lionel Messi, due to their finance problems, did help and they were able to eventually register all their new signings, but problems remain at the Camp Nou.

According to recent reports, Frenkie de Jong is available to sign from Barca's midfield, with the club feeling like they can cash in on the former Ajax midfielder.

The emergence of Pedri, as well as Gavi and other younger players, means that De Jong could be sold, although a big offer for Pedri could change their minds.

The Dutch midfielder is reportedly being chased by both Manchester City and Manchester United, and Barcelona would certainly welcome any bidding war.
