Ben Foster reveals how different Wrexham is to experience at Premier League clubs after coming out of retirement

Ben Foster has shed light on the stark contrast between Premier League clubs and Wrexham after coming out of retirement to make a second debut for the Dragons.

The 39-year-old had hung up his gloves and busy with his podcast ventures before getting the call from his old employers, who are chasing promotion to the Football League.

They were in desperate need of a goalkeeper after Rob Lainton picked up an injury and Foster signed a contract until the end of the season after swift negotiations.

He started in between the sticks on Saturday as Wrexham beat York City 3-0 in front of 10,000 fans at the Racecourse ground.

Foster brought back his trademark matchday vlogs for his 1.25 million subscribers on the Cycling GK channel and showed what happens behind-the-scenes of the Non-League outfit, owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

The first vlog back was 10 minutes long and featured footage from in the changing room, clips of the food available, the GoPro in the goal and even a cameo from Reynolds right at the end for the shirt giveaway

Foster played 21 times on loan at Wrexham back in 2005 but the former Manchester United, West Brom and Watford shotstopper made it clear that the preparation was a little different to what he had become accustomed to.

Speaking to the camera, Foster said: "Just come back from training, I am going to get showered and then get some lunch.

"There's no hotel for me tonight! Imagine that, we don't stay in the hotel a night before a game. Now, I am going to get myself home and get a good night's sleep and ready for the big game tomorrow!"

Just over a week prior to his start for Wrexham Foster was having a boozy session at Cheltenham Festival and was "the most hungover man in the world" on the Saturday.

But he's back in football and though his salary is extremely low, he's hoping to help Wrexham secure the National League title and promotion to League Two.

Wrexham, who will play United in a pre-season friendly in San Diego, California, have taken 97 points from 39 games.
