Arsenal star Ben White's incredible response on why he didn't watch Manchester City's 4-1 win over Liverpool

Arsenal defender Ben White has hilariously revealed the major reason why he didn’t watch Manchester City’s thumping 4-1 victory over Liverpool on Saturday.

City produced a clinical display at the Etihad without star striker Erling Haaland, who failed to make the matchday squad against Liverpool due to injury.

Mohamed Salah fired Liverpool into a 1-0 lead inside 20 minutes at the Etihad, but 2022 World Cup winner Julian Alvarez pulled back an equaliser before half-time.

Goals from Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan and Jack Grealish in the second half ensured three crucial points for City in their Premier League title race with Arsenal.

City’s victory over Liverpool reduced Arsenal’s lead to five points at the time, but the Gunners answered back with their convincing win over Leeds United.

Goals from Gabriel Jesus (a brace), White and Granit Xhaka sealed a 4-1 victory at the Emirates for Arsenal and restored the Gunners’ eight-point lead over City.

White revealed his reason for not watching City’s Premier League clash came down to the fact that he doesn’t watch football.

“I don’t watch football so I was just focused on the game today and that was it,” White said.

“There’s a lot of noise going on outside, and everyone is just keeping it very quiet and just getting on with what we are doing.

“I don’t really know what’s right or wrong, I have never been in this position [competing in a title race] before. So, we are just keeping quiet, heads down and working hard.”

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta admitted that he was thrilled with White’s performance against Leeds and praised the England star’s development at the club.

“As a manager, when he puts the ball in the back of the net it’s great,” he said.

“If he doesn’t and then we have an open space on the counter, not so much. But he’s timing those runs really well.

“He’s a threat there and on set pieces he’s improved so much, to bring attention and drag spaces from the opponent. I’m really happy with him.”
