Bernardo Silva’s hilarious reaction to being given homework by Pep Guardiola has resurfaced again on social media – and it’s well worth another watch.
The amusing incident happened during the 2017-18 season, six months after Silva had arrived at the Etihad from French club Monaco.
Speaking to his players in the dressing room after their win over Newcastle on December 27, Guardiola urges them to get an early night.
He then sets them the task of watching their next opponents, Crystal Palace, take on Arsenal the following day.

“Tomorrow I invite you. Tomorrow. Because you have to rest in the evening,” says Guardiola.
“With your families, switch on the TV and see Crystal Palace-Arsenal.”
While it may seem like a simple request, it appears to completely baffle Silva.
The Portugal international stares at his manager in bewilderment, before looking to his team-mates for some help.
Those players who did watch Arsenal the next day were treated to a dramatic match, with the Gunners winning 3-2 at Selhurst Park.

However, despite Guardiola’s best efforts, City were held to a goalless draw by Palace the following week.
Silva, arguably City’s player of the season, now appears to be on a perfect wavelength with Guardiola.
He recently described the former Barcelona boss as the most “complete” manager he’s played under.
"I think Guardiola has a bit of everything. He is very complete," Silva told A Bola.

"I’m not going to name names, but I’ve had coaches who are very good tactically and then, in human relation, are very weak; or very good in human relation and very weak tactically.
“I think Guardiola’s greatest strength is that, apart from having been a player at a very high level, which gives him a perspective of what we feel, his technical side is very strong."
