Harry Kane's Bayern Munich in trouble as Thomas Tuchel 'falls out' with furious teammate

Harry Kane's Bayern Munich in trouble as Thomas Tuchel 'falls out' with furious teammate

Bayern have a fresh problem.

Harry Kane's first season with Bayern Munich appears to be unravelling with Thomas Tuchel reportedly falling out with a star player.

Kane joined Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in a blockbuster £100 million move last summer, with a desire to win silverware one of his main motivations.

However, Bayern's 3-0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday left the German giants five points adrift of their opponents in the Bundesliga title race with just 13 games left to play.

Xabi Alonso's side not only tore Bayern apart on the break, but limited the reigning champions to just one shot on target.

Kane touched the ball just 18 times in what was by far his worst showing in a Bayern shirt, but it was one of his teammates who under-pressure manager Tuchel appears to have falled out with.

According to Bild, Dutch centre-back Matthijs de Ligt was left 'angry' by Tuchel's decision to leave him out of the starting line-up.

The 24-year-old - who Bayern signed from Juventus for £68 million in 2022 - had started Bayern's last five games, but Tuchel had no room for him after adopting a back three system.

The German tactician opted to start new signing Eric Dier alongside Kim Min-Jae and Dayot Upamecano, both of whom had only just returned to training after playing at the Asian Cup and recovering from injury respectively.

The gamble backfired spectacularly both on the pitch and now in the dressing room.

After the match De Ligt told reporters that he is fully fit and was not dropped due to injury, with Bild claiming that the defender has 'long suspected he he has had a bad hand' with the ex-Chelsea boss.

The report added that the relationship between Tuchel and De Ligt is strained, and that the player will only stay at the club after this season if a new manager comes in.

Bayern's struggles in the title race has resulted in intense speculation regarding Tuchel's future. Jose Mourinho has been touted as a potential successor after the former Chelsea boss left Roma last month.
