Casemiro shows his elite mentality by berating Bruno Fernandes for missed pass at full time

Casemiro shows his elite mentality by berating Bruno Fernandes for missed pass at full time

Casemiro has shown so much why he's made the difference for Manchester United in the summer and the Carabao Cup final was the latest example

Casemiro once again proved why he's a winner, telling off Manchester United teammate Bruno Fernandes after they'd won the Carabao Cup.

Off the pitch, Erik ten Hag has completely turned things around for a United team who looked to be lacking inspiration, desire and quality last season.

On it, he's been helped hugely by the signing of Casemiro last summer, a player who many questioned, thinking at 30-years-old he was just moving to Old Trafford to pick up a hefty wage but who wouldn't put in much effort.

The Brazilian has proved that it's not the case, with his double block against Barcelona in midweek showing just how much he does care.

Once again on Sunday, the former Real Madrid star was absolutely integral, as United ended six years without a trophy to beat Newcastle United at Wembley.

He opened the scoring by heading home Luke Shaw's first half free-kick, despite the VAR check showing that he was only just onside.

The 31-year-old was awarded Man of the Match for his performance but it was something he did after the game that really caught the eye.

In the 93rd minute, Fernandes could have played in Jadon Sancho, for an easy chance to make it 3-0, but went himself and gave an easy enough save for Loris Karius.

As they celebrated at full time, Casemiro went up to his teammate to berate him for not passing when he had the chance, before continuing the partying.

"That's why he's a winner," one fan said, summing up the midfielder perfectly.

"I love that mentality!! Great guy, paid big bucks, behaves and maintains that value. No wonder Real Madrid won a load of trophies with him," added a second.

A third fan believes that Casemiro has changed the whole mentality of Untied, explaining, "Forget it, the mentality of this team has changed and I'm not even exaggerating."

"United are lucky Casemiro chose them," claimed another.

A fifth posted, "Telling him he should have squared that ball to Sancho. Imagine that! We’ve won but they are still calling out incompetency."

"Love this. Casemiro angry at Bruno for not passing at end, even though they’ve just won Carabao Cup. Maintaining high standards," tweeted a sixth supporter.

Having won the Champions League on five occasions, you just know that winning the Carabao Cup won't be enough for the former Real star.

Fortunately for him, he could still come away with three more trophies by the end of the campaign, with United still competing in the FA Cup, Europa League and being third in the Premier League.

With Casemiro in the team, anything seems possible right now.
