Jurgen Klopp has been at the Liverpool helm since 2015, guiding the team to Premier League and Champions League glory during his legendary time in charge.
The German is contracted at Anfield until the end of the 2025/26 season, having penned a new deal back in April.
But his successor has already been named, according to former Celtic player Paul Slane, who has tipped the Australian gaffer to replace Klopp.
Slane believes the 57-year-old will be the next Liverpool manager once Klopp decides to leave or parts way with the club.
He told Grosvenor Sport: "I think Postecoglou’s going to be the next Liverpool manager, I really do.
"I think he’ll be the next Liverpool manager when Jurgen Klopp decides to go or Liverpool decide to part with him. Who else takes the Liverpool job after Klopp?"
Slane added: "At times in this season’s Champions League game against Real Madrid, the European champions, Celtic were unbelievable, so I think Ange Postecoglou is good enough to be the next Liverpool manager.
"If people think Graham Potter is better than Postecoglou, and he can get the Chelsea job, then they’re wrong."
Postecoglou was appointed Celtic manager in 2021 and led the club to a league and cup double last season.
He's become a huge fan favourite and enhanced his reputation as a manager.
The ex-Australia national team manager had been linked with the Brighton vacancy following Graham Potter's appointment at Chelsea.
But he's been backed to land an even bigger job in the Premier League.
