As for AC Milan, they also picked up a win on Saturday to keep up the pace with Serie A leaders who sit top of the table 3 points ahead of Milan.

Milan grabbed victory over Empoli last time out in eye-catching fashion.

Empoli equalised in stoppage time, but Milan went on to score two further goals before the final whistle blew.

An important win for Milan to establish some feel-good factor ahead of the Chelsea contest this evening.

Chelsea will continue to be without Edouard Mendy and N’Golo Kante against Milan who are both carrying injury problems at the moment.

 Marc Cucurella is also likely to miss out again through illness whilst Jorginho is a doubt after sustaining a knock against Palace on Saturday.

If the Blues win tonight, they have the opportunity to draw level on points with Milan who currently sit top of the group.

As for Milan, they are handling something of an injury crisis at the moment.

As many as 9 Milan stars are currently nursing issues including Theo Hernandez, Mike Maignan, Divock Origi, and Alexis Saelemaekers.

Milan boss Stefano Pioli will thus likely have to field something of a makeshift XI tonight.
