Mykhailo Mudryk in line for drastic lifestyle change, it could have a huge impact

Chelsea star Mykhailo Mudryk is set for a drastic lifestyle change which could help improve his form on the pitch.

The Ukraine international signed for Chelsea from Shakhtar Donetsk in a huge £89 million January transfer move but has not yet found his feet for his new employers.

Mudryk has struggled to produce the kind of form which led to elite European clubs queuing up for his signature.

He has failed to open his account for Chelsea and registered just a single Premier League assist in nine appearances, with his game-time suffering as a result.

That impressive cameo off the bench against Liverpool at Anfield looks a long time ago now but things could well get better for Mudryk.

Frank Lampard has returned for a second spell in charge, this time as caretaker boss following Graham Potter's dismissal, but Mudryk could be aided by his family joining him in London.

Alan Nixon of The Sun says Mudryk, still only 22, has been feeling alone in the capital and is desperate to bring his family to the city.

He is set to be reunited with his parents Inna Nikolaevna and Petrovych, who have still been living in Ukraine amid the Russian invasion engineered by Vladimir Putin.

His only contact has been over telephone, with Mudryk telling Sky Sports last month: "My parents are still there, still in Ukraine, and every day I call them and ask them what is happening, what the situation is now and how they are. Everything about what the situation is like in our country."

It's clear to see that Mudryk has an abundance of ability and so him being settled could be exactly what the doctor ordered.

Shakhtar's CEO Serhiy Palkin visited him recently and stressed the need for Chelsea to be patient with the winger.

He told Sky Sports: “I said from the beginning, I spoke to the owners of Chelsea, and I told them you’ve got a real diamond but you should be very, very patient. Give this guy time and he will show you what he can bring to the club.”
