Supercomputer drops new prediction for Chelsea and rest of Premier League teams after January signings arrive

A supercomputer has predicted the fate of Premier League club Chelsea this season after the Blues’ eye-watering spree in the January transfer window.

Chelsea co-owner and chairman Todd Boehly provided funds from the club’s war chest for Blues manager Graham Potter to significantly strengthen his squad.

The Blues are 10th in the league table after 20 matches -- level on points with ninth-place Liverpool -- and are 10 points adrift from the Premier League top four.

Chelsea snapped up Joao Felix on loan from Atletico Madrid, as well as signing David Datro Fofana from Molde and Andrey Santos from Vasco da Gama.

The London side also splashed out on the signings of Malo Gusto from Lyon, Noni Madueke from PSV Eindhoven and Benoit Badiashile from Monaco.

Chelsea’s big-money moves included their acquisition of ex-Arsenal target Mykhailo Mudryk, who was signed from Shakhtar Donetsk in a deal worth up to £89m.

The Blues capped off their January spending spree by breaking the British-record transfer fee to sign Enzo Fernandez from Benfica for a whopping £107m.

According to Transfermarkt, Chelsea lavishly spent an eye-watering £289m before the window closed on 31st January.

However, BonusCodeBets’ supercomputer believes that Chelsea will still fail to make the top four of the Premier League, despite their almost £300m worth of spending.

It is predicted that Potter’s men will only finish seventh in the league table -- three spots above their current position -- behind London rivals Tottenham.

“Southampton, Everton and Bournemouth are set to finish at the bottom of the table and Bournemouth could be heading back to the Championship after a short stint in the Premier League.

“Arsenal sit at the top of the Premier League at the moment, five points clear of Manchester City, so it will be interesting to see if things stay the same.”
