Thiago Silva Made A Special Gesture To Chelsea Fans At Full-Time vs Spurs, He Just Gets It

Thiago Silva Made A Special Gesture To Chelsea Fans At Full-Time vs Spurs, He Just Gets It

Chelsea will face either Liverpool or Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final.

Thiago Silva celebrated Chelsea's Carabao Cup semi-final win over Tottenham Hotspur by singing and dancing along to chants while his teammates went down the tunnel. You can check out footage below.

Chelsea comfortably secured their passage to Wembley on Wednesday evening with a 1-0 win on the night and 3-0 win on aggregate.

Antonio Rudiger scored the only goal of the game but it was one of his fellow central defenders who stole the limelight at full-time.

Silva approached the away end, long after the whistle had blown, and showed his appreciation for the fans.

The Brazil international arrived on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain in 2020 and signed a one year deal.

Since then, he's become a focal point at the back and his leadership on the pitch is unmatched.

Silva extended his contract after winning the Champions League last season and he's since renewed again, keeping him at the club until 2023.

Fans have reacted to the gesture and they think the 37-year-old has a shot at being owner Roman Abramovich's greatest signing.

One commented: "No one in club history became legend in such a short time. It shows nothing but character of this man."

Another added: "I don't think I have loved a player more in such a short space of time."

While someone else put: "Beautiful to watch. He's proper Chels already."

Chelsea now have a shot at winning a trophy for the fifth season running when they face either Liverpool or Arsenal next month.

Rudiger headed home in the 18th minute after a mistake from Pierluigi Gollini in the Spurs net.

Spurs boss Antonio Conte chose to make a number of chances and bringing in Gollini for Hugo Lloris was one of them.

Conte defended his decision post-match and brought up Gollini's involvement under previous manager Nuno Espirito Santo.

“Before my arrival at Tottenham, Pierluigi has always played in Carabao and the Conference League,” he said per The Guardian.

“I think when you’re in a team like Tottenham, it’s important to give chances to the keeper because Pierluigi has shown to be reliable. Then we have to play three games in seven days against Arsenal, Leicester and Chelsea again.

"I think he deserved this chance to play an important game."

Chelsea and Spurs will meet again in Premier League action on January 23.
