"To the Premier League" - Man Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool told potential Gakpo price tag

Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United transfer target Cody Gakpo will have secured a move away from PSV Eindhoven "by Christmas", according to one Dutch pundit.

Gakpo has scored in all three of the Netherlands' group games at the Qatar World Cup and is thriving in domestic football as well this season.

He has made 24 appearances this season in all competitions and has contributed 13 goals and 17 assists for PSV.

Gakpo is now being linked with a move to the Premier League, with Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal all linked with the 23-year-old.

What else has been said about Gakpo?

Dutch legend Willy van de Kerkhof has told Voetbal Primeur that PSV should not sell Gakpo for anything less than €80m (£69m).

"As a football player you need a bit of luck in your career," says Van der Kerkhfof.

"Gakpo plays well at the World Cup. That is good for him, but also good for PSV. To be very honest; if he plays a good World Cup, and he doing that, then I think he will be gone by Christmas.

"I wouldn't sell him for less than €80m."

Gakpo himself has been very open about his future and previously discussed his links to Erik ten Hag's United side: "I was close to leaving. I spoke to Erik ten Hag a few times at Manchester United.

"In the end, the deal didn't go through, which is a shame, for me and my development, and because Manchester United is one of the biggest clubs in the world. But also for PSV, because to transfer a player to Manchester United is a good thing for the club.

"It ended about a week before the end of the transfer window, and in that week I had to decide if I would go to Leeds or Southampton.

"In the end, I stayed, but it was a stressful period."
