Compilation Of Jack Grealish Vs Germany Proves He Should Start For England

Jack Grealish made a huge impact for England in the 1-1 UEFA Nations League draw with Germany in Munich.

Jack Grealish has surely earned himself a starting berth for England's next game after starring from the bench against Germany.

The Three Lions came away from Munich with their first point in the UEFA Nations League after a late Harry Kane penalty cancelled out Jonas Hofmann's opener just after half-time.

As we saw against Hungary at the weekend, England were lacking in invention going forward for large spells at the Allianz Arena.

But that all changed when Grealish entered the fray, replacing Mason Mount in the 72nd minute.

Operating on the left flank, Grealish did what he does and made things happen. Having been relatively comfortable, Germany defenders then had an entirely different problem to contain and were on the backfoot as Grealish drove at them.

He combined brilliantly with Raheem Sterling and put the ball on an absolute plate for Kane with an inch-perfect cross, with Manuel Neuer making a superb reaction stop.

It was also his run that helped bring about the penalty on Kane, who was brought down and scored his 50th goal for England after a VAR review.

While Mount was ineffective, Grealish played with that unique swagger he is and almost demanded the ball at his feet.

A compilation of his exciting 18-minute cameo has been put together and only serves as evidence for why fans are clamouring for him to get a start.

In Grealish's last 11 competitive appearances in an England shirt, just three have come from the start.

After the draw, manager Gareth Southgate stressed he doesn't merely see Grealish as an impact player but believes he can improve tactically.

"He can do both," Southgate said in his presser, as per Sky Sports.

"If we didn't trust him we wouldn't put him on the pitch with 20 minutes to go in the belief he can make a difference.

"At the start of the game the challenge for the wide players was to attack, defend and to try and score goals - high tactical level and you've got to be spot on - and that's an area Jack can get better at.

"What he did do was carry the ball as the game opened up with a little bit more space and opportunity. The impact both he and Jarrod Bowen had was really important in those attacking areas. There is a good challenge there among those players but we've got to keep pushing them."

England now have back-to-back games at Molineux against Italy and Hungary on 11 and 14 June respectively.
