Compilation Of Manchester United's Missed Chances Shows Current Issues

Manchester United have failed to win in their past three games, throwing away a 1-0 lead in each of them, but it's not like they haven't had any chances.

Football fans haven't really needed to watch the past two United games, they could have just watched the 90 minutes against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup and then imagined that twice more.

In the two Premier League games since, against Burnley and Southampton, Ralf Rangnick's side have once again gone 1-0 up only to concede in the opening minutes of the second half and been unable to find a way to score.

During the draw to the Saints on Saturday, in which Ralph Hassenhutl's team actually looked the more likely to get a winner, Gary Neville was left claiming the team 'broke all the rules' in attempting to grab a winner.

In those three games the team have taken 64 shots, with only 22 on target, and the compilation of their missed chances won't make for good viewing for any United fans.

Amongst the moments on the compilation are Cristiano Ronaldo's missed penalty and Bruno Fernandes hitting the post after being one-on-one with the keeper, both in the FA Cup game with Boro.

The two Portugal stars have been amongst United's most reliable goalscorers and even they are missing what should be straight forward chances.

Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford are other who have missed the target with the goal beckoning, though Sancho has scored in two of the three games recently.

Some of the chances haven't even resulted in shots, meaning United's stats could look even worse, and they'll need to find their shooting boots soon.

United's attack was even mocked by their own fans during the Southampton game, as all six players attacking a free kick managed to be offside.

The image of the moment made it look like a very good defensive line from Rangnick's team, but instead it was the latest disaster class from a decent position.

Despite the poor attacking, the forward players haven't been the only ones to blame, as the team have also conceded in all three of the recent games.

Whilst David de Gea is having an excellent season in goal, United's defence has been poor and Harry Maguire specifically has come in for plenty of criticism.

The £80 million defender was mocked for his 'no look' defending on Saturday and was labelled as 'embarrassing and petrified' by Michael Owen.
