Conor McGregor was lucky to escape with a minor injury after he was involved in a bike accident that 'could have killed him'.
On Friday afternoon, near his home in Dublin, the 34-year-old MMA fighter was cycling along a narrow two-way road when he was knocked off his bike by a car going at "full" speed.
Reflecting on the incident, McGregor said knowing how to land after being hit "saved my life".
"Got a bang of a car just now from behind. A sun trap, the driver couldn’t see me. Full speed straight thru me," he wrote on Instagram.
"Thank you God, it wasn’t my time. Thank you wrestling and judo also. Having an awareness on the landing saved my life."
Footage shared by the former UFC featherweight and lightweight champ showed the driver apologising repeatedly for his actions, while McGregor assured him he was okay.
'Notorious', who appeared breathless and shaken, initially told the driver he didn't need anything from him, telling him 'safe travels'.
But he quickly changed his mind as he realised the bike was "f*cked".
The driver offered to take McGregor's bike out of the road, and the fighter accepted before joining him in the car for a lift home.
As he sat in the front seat, McGregor said: "We've got the bike in the back, it wasn't our time, that's all. God bless, and we're f***in' still here, thank God. That's all that matters."
The morning after the shock incident and McGregor took to Instagram to show off his injuries.
After posting the nasty cut on his upper leg, fans reacted to the image.
One said: "Are people seriously offended by this picture…it is just showing the injury sustained after yesterday's accident. It looks sore, but thankfully that is one incredibly lucky escape given the severity of the situation. It is just a side view of a body folks."
A second wrote: "Conor testing if an OnlyFans would be a good idea," while a third commented: "I've had worse astro burns."
Over 20,000 people commented on the above picture of McGregor's injury, with many sending their support following the incident.
