Son asks for Cristiano Ronaldo haircut but dad gives him Ronaldo's 2002 cut

Son asks for Cristiano Ronaldo haircut but dad gives him Ronaldo's 2002 cut

The Brazilian's hair cut in 2002 is one of the most famous in World Cup and football history, you have to feel sorry for the poor kid.

One kid was left to instantly regret his request for his dad to cut his hair like Cristiano Ronaldo, as he ended up with 'R9's' haircut from the 2002 World Cup instead, as you can see in the video below.

The son was clearly very specific that he wanted same cut as Manchester United forward Ronaldo, the seven time Ballon d'Or winner instantly recognisable around the globe.

He even shows his dad a picture of the then Juventus forward, in case you're wondering why a Chelsea fan is so enamoured by a striker from a rival club.

His dad seems up for giving him the 'Ronaldo,' but it then appears that's because he's got a trick up his sleeve, as the new style is revealed.

Instead of looking like one Ronaldo, the kid looks like another, former Inter Milan and AC Milan striker O Fenomeno, with the dad getting picture of the Brazilian up and saying, "There's only one Ronaldo."

In turn the child calls his dad d***head, which you can't really blame him for, after being left with a tuft of hair at the front of his hair and nothing else.

The Brazilian Ronaldo dominated the World Cup in 2002, four years after he'd mysteriously taken ill on the day of the final, which they lost to France.

This time the South Americans made no mistake, beating Germany in the final, with the former PSV striker scoring twice in the game.

Ahead of the tournament he'd had another injury however, and he revealed that it's the reason that he decided to get the eye catching hair cut.

"I decided to cut my hair and leave the small thing there. I come to training and everybody saw me with bad hair," Ronaldo told ESPN years after the tournament in South Korea and Japan.

"Everybody was talking about the hair and forgot about the injury. I could stay more calm and relaxed and focused on my training.

"I'm not proud about the hair itself because it was pretty strange. But it was a good way to change the subject."

It has been a constant annoyance for fans how to distinguish the pair when talking about them, with the 46-year-old having been referred to as both 'Original Ronaldo' and, far more disrespectfully, 'Fat Ronaldo' in the past.

He has some sympathy for his namesake however, saying that it much be 'boring' to hear someone else be called the 'Original' version.

"For CR7, it must be boring to hear that I am the real Ronaldo," he told Fabio Cannavaro last year.

"People cannot be compared. Cristiano will remain in football history for the goals and for the continuity he has achieved. He will remain one of the best, like Messi."

Still, don't tell that kid's dad...
