‘For The First Time In Your Life, Think About The Club And The Team’, Cristiano Ronaldo Blasted Over Transfer Plea

‘For The First Time In Your Life, Think About The Club And The Team’, Cristiano Ronaldo Blasted Over Transfer Plea

Ronaldo’s future remains unclear after handing in transfer request last month.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been criticised over his request to leave Manchester United this summer and has been told that he has let the club down.

The 37-year-old expressed his desire to seek a move elsewhere last month after United failed to qualify for the Champions League after a dismal 21/22 season.

Despite Erik ten Hag publicly stating that Ronaldo is in his plans for the season, the Portuguese mega star reiterated his wish to leave the club this week, which has irked former Chelsea striker, Tony Cascarino

Whilst speaking on talkSPORT, Cascarino expressed his disappointment in Ronaldo and said that the five time Ballon d’Or winner has let United down.

He said: “It’s the first time that I really felt that Ronaldo has disappointed.

“You know it’s lovely to be loved at a football club and be wanted. When the manager comes in and he wants to build a team around you for this season and be wanted, that is a great place to be for a player, having a manager that has given you his full backing.

“Now the disappointment from Ronaldo from my point of view is that he signed a two year deal.

“If you wanted to come to Manchester United and see if they make the Champions League you sign a one year deal.”

Cascarino then urged Ronaldo to think about the club.

He added: “I understand he has had personal issues off the field, but what I would say is, for the first time in your life, think about your club and your team.

“The club that have a fan base that has been unbelievable to you. When you came back they adored you and they still do.

“There must be some United fans that are p’d off by his non commitment to the football club.”

However, Ronaldo seems to be running out of options as the new season approaches.

Clubs like Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona have all ruled themselves out of the race to sign the Portuguese.

Despite his future being uncertain, Ronaldo did hint on Instagram this week that he is due to make a return on the pitch wearing the United shirt. The player commented on a post about his future saying: “Sunday, the king plays.”

United are due to take on Rayo Vallecano on Sunday in what will be Ten Hag’s first game in charge of United at Old Trafford
