Ronaldo 'very tempted' by move to Manchester United's rivals, this wouldn't go down well at Old Trafford

Ronaldo 'very tempted' by move to Manchester United's rivals, this wouldn't go down well at Old Trafford

He could be on his way...

Former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo is said to have been "tempted" by a potential move to Chelsea, according to a journalist.

Earlier this month, Ronaldo and United agreed to terminate his contract after he took part in an interview with Piers Morgan and slated the club.

Ronaldo brought up issues about the Glazers, the facilities but also slammed manager Erik ten Hag claiming he did not respect his manager.

The 37-year-old striker was brought back to the club under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and had an incredible first season, however, since Ten Hag took charge Ronaldo's mintues have been limited.

Now he is a free agent playing at the World Cup for Portugal, who have booked their place in the round of 16.

What has been said?

According to journalist Daniele Longo, Chelsea are interested in signing Ronaldo and the former United man is “very tempted” by the prospect of joining the Premier League club.

Transfer guru, Fabrizio Romano, earlier this week reported that Ronaldo has received a monstrous contract offer from Al Nassr but insists the forward is focused on the World Cup.

Romano tweeted: "Cristiano Ronaldo has received a formal proposal from Al Nassr, confirmed. #Ronaldo

"Almost €200m per season until 2025.

"But… big part is sponsor deals, so it’s not clear yet if image rights can be agreed.

"Nothing done/signed or decided.

"Cristiano, focused on World Cup."
