Cristiano Ronaldo has a new $780,000 Saudi Arabia themed watch

Cristiano Ronaldo has a new watch with an ode to Saudi Arabia and it's worth a whopping $780,000.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has made the move to Saudi after signing a mammoth £175-million-a-year deal with Saudi Pro League leaders Al Nassr.

And though he got the country he is playing in wrong in his Al Nassr in his presentation when he said 'South Africa', Ronaldo's new timepiece is Saudi-themed.

Ronaldo is a brand ambassador for Jacob & Co and they have created a special 'Caviar Flyin Tourbillon', The watch, with its 18K white gold 47mm x 15.85mm Caviar case design, has 388 green Tsavorite gemstones.

These stones are believed to be 200 times rarer than emeralds but less costly.

Green is on the Saudi Arabian flag and is seen as an important colour in Islam because of its connection with the Prophet Muhammad.

The watch is powered by the JCAA43 movement and is made up of 216 components, 27 jewels, and a 42-hour power reserve.

Its retail price is valued at around £630,000 but this is very much a custom one-off creation for Ronaldo, who was seen sporting the ice on his wrist for his flight to Riyadh.

As well as watches, Ronaldo is a huge supercar enthusiast and was recently gifted with a £250,000 Rolls Royce for Christmas by girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez.

He also has a Mercedes G-Wagon, a Ferrari F430, a Lamborghini Aventador, Maserati GranCabrio, Bugatti Centodieci, Bentley Continental GTC and McLaren Senna.

Ronaldo made his debut for Al Nassr as captain in a 1-0 win over Ettifaq but was unable to add to his two goals scored for the Riyadh XI against Paris Saint-Germain.

Manager Rudi Garcia liked what he saw from the 37-year-old but wants his team to play their natural game.

“It's very important for the players to play normally and not always try to give the ball to Cristiano," he said afterwards.

“Tonight, I think that sometimes we had good positions to cross but not enough people in the box, and sometimes no Ronaldo and no Talisca.

“We need to work on that, to have one of them in the box and maybe the other playing outside the box.”

Next up for Ronaldo and Al Nassr is a clash against Al Ittihad in the Saudi Super Cup on Thursday.
