Cristiano Ronaldo superfan gets his name and number tattooed on back

A Cristiano Ronaldo superfan has showed his admiration for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner by getting his name and number tattooed on him.

Ronaldo is one of the biggest athletes in the world and has a gigantic worldwide fanbase that stretches beyond the clubs he's played for.

And Parthiban from India loves the 37-year-old so much that he has got him inked on back.

The tat covers a good chunk of the fan's back and has his name at the top, as well as his iconic No.7 below it.

It appears to be in the La Liga font style from when Ronaldo broke countless records playing for Real Madrid.

A large football motif completes the tattoo, which Parthiban shared on Instagram.

Ronaldo himself has never had any tattoos and it's been reported that he abstains so that he can donate blood regularly.

But Parthiban feels he had to go to extreme lengths to express his fandom and revealed he cried when Portugal were eliminated from the World Cup.

"I am a huge Ronaldo fan; I love his attitude and his hard work," he told Newsflash.

"He also came from a middle-class family and I can relate to him.

"He made his country proud and he made Portugal a well-known country around the world. He doesn't have any bad habits. These qualities and his character made me a fan of him.

"I admire him most, so I decided to tattoo his name and number.

"I know Ronaldo doesn't like tattoos, but I tattooed for myself and I felt heartbroken when Portugal lost in the World Cup. I was emotional when he cried.

"I posted the tattoo video on Instagram and shared it with some pages. It went viral, which I totally didn't expect it to be."

Ronaldo, now at Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia, is to captain a Riyadh XI against Paris Saint-Germain in what could be his final on-pitch meeting with long-time rival Lionel Messi.
