David de Gea's distribution against Real Betis highlighted in fail comp, Man United fans are not impressed

David de Gea's distribution against Real Betis highlighted in fail comp, Man United fans are not impressed

David de Gea failed to impress Man United fans in their win over Real Betis.

Manchester United fans have raised questions over David de Gea's distribution following his performance against Real Betis.

Man United bounced back from their humiliating 7-0 defeat at Liverpool by beating Betis 4-1 in the first-leg of their Europa League last-16 tie.

Marcus Rashford opened the scoring in just the sixth minute, but Ayoze Perez, on loan from Leicester City, levelled in the 32nd minute.

Antony, Bruno Fernandes and an emotional Wout Weghorst all scored in the second-half to secure a commanding advantage ahead of next Thursday's second-leg.

Despite the victory at Old Trafford, Man United fans took exception to De Gea's showing between the sticks.

The Spaniard looked shaky in the first-half and misplaced several passes as he put his side in danger.

A video of his distribution from the game against Betis has emerged online and it doesn't make for great viewing.

Naturally, it got Man United fans talking on social media as they believe it could be the end for him at the club.

One Twitter user wrote: "David de Gea makes incredible saves to win us games, but his poor ball distribution harms our build-up so much. This is not a slander, it's an obvious fact."

A second tweeted: "I’m sorry, I’ve defended De Gea for so long but this game has shown me everything I’ve been blinding myself from. Get a new GK in the summer, please."

A third added: "David De Gea genuinely cannot be extended I refuse to believe the club is even entertaining it."

A fourth said: "I love De Gea, but this has got to be his last season as a starter."

Another commented: "If Ten Hag gives De Gea a new deal, he might not be the one."

De Gea, 32, has been at Man United since 2011 following his £19 million move from Atletico Madrid.

He's been a regular for the club and has won the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award an impressive four times.

He's also won the club's Players' Player of the Year award on four occasions.

But fans feel it could be the end of the road for De Gea at Man United following his recent performances.
