Dele Alli facing 'contract termination' at Besiktas after loan spell takes another nightmarish turn

Dele Alli's club playing career continues to languish, and it could take an ugly turn if Besiktas terminate the Everton player's contract.

Dele Alli’s horror spell at Besiktas could be coming to a shock end after the Turkish side are reportedly ‘considering’ a contract termination and sending him back to Everton.

The former Tottenham star signed on a season-long loan with Besiktas in August 2022, with Alli desperate to rediscover his best form and revive his flailing career.

However, Alli has been reduced to only nine appearances for the Super Lig side this season and only scored twice during his unimpressive loan spell.

Besiktas manager Senol Gunes ruthlessly slammed the former England international by claiming that he was “below expectations in terms of efficiency.”

The 26-year-old Besiktas flop was also booed by the club’s fans after Gunes pulled him off only 28 minutes into the Turkish Cup clash against Sanliurfaspor last month.

According to Turkish newspaper Sabah, Besiktas are weighing up the possibility of ‘terminating’ Alli’s loan spell before the end of the season.

It is believed that Alli has one final chance to salvage his spell at the Turkish side, with the Everton loanee extending his stay if his performances improve.

If Alli fails to turn things around at Besiktas, however, the 16-time Super Lig champions could initiate talks with Everton over his return to Goodison Park.

Alli’s 2022 ended at a low point after he was left on the bench on Christmas Day in Besiktas’ 1-1 draw against Gaziantep in the Super Lig.

Alli was once tipped to be a top prospect in the Premier League, with his decline even surprising legendary former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

“I thought Dele Alli was going to be a top player, I must admit,” Ferguson told SPORTbible last year.

“I don’t know what’s happened there.”
