Eddie Nketiah has undergone a remarkable body transformation that includes 3,500 calorie diet

Eddie Nketiah can attribute his brilliant form to his new diet and muscle-building workouts as he undergone a remarkable body transformation.

The 23-year-old is enjoying a prolific patch for Arsenal, having scored six goals in as many games since the season resumed following the 2022 World Cup.

He's helped his side's Premier League title charge, deputising for Gabriel Jesus who suffered an injury whilst on international duty with Brazil.

Nketiah's presence up front can be traced back to his high-calorie diet as he transformed his physique with the help of Chris Varnavas' strength and conditioning company Athletic Development Club.

And the results speak for themselves based on the side-by-side pictures of the English forward.

He's not only been putting the work in the gym, but also increased his calorie intake, eating as much as 3,500 calories a day.

"When Eddie first came to us, he was actually under-eating," Varnavas explained.

They've also worked on his sleep, lifestyle and recovery, with the results showing on the pitch.

Varnavas added: "What I like about Eddie is he is very humble. He takes his instructions really well.

"Even when he first came to us, when he was around the first team but maybe on the bench here and there, he had that inner belief in himself that he could be Arsenal’s main striker. He never doubted his self-worth."

Nketiah's form has garnered praise from Mikel Arteta, whose backed him to make Gareth Southgate's England squad in the near future.

"Hopefully, he will have it because we want the best for Eddie," said the Gunners boss. "That’s for Gareth [Southgate] or the coaching staff to respond to.

"Our job is to prepare him to be the best he can be. Sometimes you can be very good to play at that [level], but you don’t have the space to do it.

"That’s the challenge we all have, not only Eddie, to be not at that level but at a better level every single day. Eddie has been very consistent and I think he has surprised a few people with how he responded to the huge challenge and demands he had after Gabriel [Jesus] got injured. We are positive he can get much better, evolve and still continue to develop."
