Real Madrid Players Were Desperate To Get 'Loved' Eden Hazard Involved After Manchester City Win

Real Madrid Players Were Desperate To Get 'Loved' Eden Hazard Involved After Manchester City Win

It's been tough for Hazard in Spain, but his teammates clearly adore him.

Eden Hazard was treated like royalty by his Real Madrid teammates after coming onto the pitch to celebrate Wednesday's Champions League semi-final win over Manchester City.

Rodrygo scored twice late on to take the game to extra time before Karim Benzema's penalty gave Madrid a 6-5 victory on aggregate and passage to the Champions League final, where they'll face Liverpool.

At full-time, Madrid players stayed on the pitch to celebrate and Hazard decided to get in on the action despite missing the game through injury.

The Belgium international was watching the game from a directors box but felt compelled to join his teammates.

It wouldn't be out of place to say Hazard's £100 million transfer hasn't worked out at all.

He moved to the Spanish capital from Chelsea in 2019 and was given the legendary number seven shirt, in hopes of leading Madrid into a new era.

The 31-year-old has been ravaged by injury however and this season, he's started just nine times.

It's quite clear he's desperate to give his all for the club despite that and his teammates adore him.

Federico Valverde gave Hazard a huge hug after spotting him before the winger made his way to Rodrygo and Eduardo Camavinga.

They shared an embrace and danced together before making their way over to the rest of the squad.

All this was done while Hazard wore a 'A por la 14' shirt, which translates to 'Go for the 14'. He really is one of the boys.

Fans have reacted to the footage and they think it's incredibly wholesome.

One commented: "I'm not crying, you are."

Another said: "You can tell the players love Eden Hazard."

Someone tweeted: "I feel sad that Hazard can't contribute but we all still love him."

While another put: "He's the role model to so many of these young players and you can tell."

Rodrygo would later post a selfie with Hazard captioned 'My idol'.

Hazard has managed to win two La Liga titles during his three years in Spain but his role in them were small.

Vinicius Jr. is now fulfilling his potential, while Rodrygo's brace could catapult his career to the next level.

The Brazilian duo could have Madrid's wings on lock for a decade plus and limit Hazard's playing time if he does get back fit.

You get the feeling they'd love to keep him around though.
