Edinson Cavani Couldn't Believe It Went Dark After 3pm In Manchester During The Winter

Cavani has had to adapt to life in Manchester since arriving in 2020.

Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani reportedly 'couldn't believe' it started to go dark in England after 3pm during the winter.

The Uruguay international joined United in 2020 as a free agent and it was his first experience of Premier League football.

Having spent the majority of his senior career in Italy and France, it took Cavani time to get used to the country.

It's been reported by ESPN that the 35-year-old was stunned by the weather conditions while also being 'p**sed off' at his treatment in his second season.

Cavani was number seven in his first year at Old Trafford and originally only wanted to stay for a season.

He was forced to stick around however and weeks later, Cristiano Ronaldo returned which reduced his game time. In addition to that, he vacated the number seven shirt for Ronaldo and took number 21 instead.

A source explained: "He did really well in a tough season during COVID-19 despite his difficulties adjusting to life in Manchester -- he couldn't believe that it got dark outside at 3 p.m. in the winter -- but he knew he wasn't going to play with Ronaldo and wanted to join Barca [Barcelona].

"He ended up starting eight games all season at United and scored just twice, so nobody benefited from him staying, least of all the club."

Cavani's last goal for the club came in December's 1-1 draw with Newcastle United and he'll be moving on in the summer.

He played the full 90 minutes in the Red Devils' 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace on Sunday and was involved in an unsavoury scene at full-time.

While boarding the team bus outside Selhurst Park, Cavani appeared to be taunted by fans.

The former Paris Saint-Germain star responded by sticking his middle finger up twice.

It's a bitter end to a relationship that started so promisingly, as Cavani's first season saw him score 17 goals and become a cult hero.

His luscious lob against Fulham, the first goal scored at Old Trafford in front of fans in over a year, is always worth mentioning.

Cavani has been linked with a move to Argentine giants Boca Juniors in recent months.

Nemanja Matic has also confirmed he'll be leaving while departures for Paul Pogba, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard are expected too.
