BBC presenter Emma Jones hits back at troll after vile message made her ‘feel ill’

Presenter Emma Jones has shared a message she received from a troll

BBC Sports presenter Emma Jones has hit back at a troll who sent her a vile message to her social media account.

Jones shared the message she was sent via her official Instagram account.

It said: “Another fake account is on... now that I have your attention, can you please kick me in the b****? I'll pay.”

She responded to the vile message by saying: “As if I didn't feel ill enough,” along with an emoji wearing a face mask.

In recent days, she has been inactive due to a chest infection and she revealed that she “had the lungs of a 98-year-old”.

At the bottom of her Instagram post, she joked that she would “share any fake Tinder profiles I get sent”. She later showed her 381,000 followers the vile message she received.

Jones is a huge Leeds United fan and used to be a presenter for Leeds TV, which gave her the platform to attract the likes of BBC and Premier Sports to use her.

Since then, Jones has hosted BBC’s MOTDx alongside former Tottenham Hotspur and England midfielder Jermaine Jenas, whilst presenting a range of different programmes on Premier Sports.

Back in September 2022, Jones faced backlash over a dress that she wore for an awards ceremony.

The presenter hit back at criticism by saying: “Thank you to the overwhelming majority of you who have called out the few misogynists & dinosaurs in the replies to this. “Unfortunately it's usually those people who shout the loudest. I was hosting an awards ceremony & I felt lovely in my new dress, so I wanted to share it.”

Fellow female presenter Laura Woods also defended Jones, she wrote: “What some people don’t get is…you're allowed to be both! You're smart and you're beautiful. One shouldn't and doesn't cancel out the other.

“I absolutely love seeing other people's glams, women AND men. And if you stopped posting them I'd be pretty disappointed tbh.”
