England fan speaks Arabic on live TV in heart-warming and hilarious moment

One England fan covered in facepaint and draped in a flag has gone viral for speaking Arabic on live TV during the World Cup.

An England fan has gone viral after he unexpectedly spoke Arabic on live TV during the World Cup in Qatar.

It makes for a hilarious video and what makes it even better is how he's dressed and how he ignites the crowd around him.

A grown man draped in an England flag, whilst also sporting England face paint, doesn't fill with much confidence at the start of the video.

In fact, at first, you're worried as to just what exactly he's going to say down the camera, but the end result is equal parts wholesome as two cultures collide in the most unlikely way.

Firstly, he started off by saying "Just two things to say. One, football is coming home" which was met by cheers from the crowd around the microphone.

Before then switching it up by speaking Arabic as he shouted "Free Palestine" before pulling out a Palestine flag in an extraordinary moment.

This sparked a heart-warming moment between two cultures as the crowd of men all began jumping up and down in celebration.

It was then followed by them all chanting "Free" over and again as the Englishman decided to not only celebrate his country, but raise awareness of another.

The Qatar World Cup has come under heavy criticism ever since it was awarded the tournament back in 2010.

In the build-up to the event, Qatar's treatment of migrant workers and their laws against same-sex relationships have come under fire.

There has also been major controversy around the wearing of Rainbow armbands that were to help send an anti-discriminatory message against homophobia.

But following reports that any player wearing them would receive an instant yellow card, and the fact that FIFA threatened England with "unlimited disciplinary action" if they were to wear it, we've sadly not seen them at the tournament.

However, seeing one England fan show solidarity with those in Palestine amidst continued tensions with Israel feels like a breath of fresh air amidst all the negativity surrounding the tournament.

One Twitter user commented: "I hope this guy has a wonderful day. This is what the World Cup is about!!"

Whilst another commented: "This man is the greatest English export of all time."

Finally, another simply put: "oh my god what a legend"
