Roy Keane lived up to his no-nonsense persona when asked about Senegal's raucous fanbase ahead of their World Cup round of 16 clash with England.
Senegal, nicknamed the Lions of Teranga, have lit up the 2022 World Cup thanks in no small part to their vibrant and passionate following.
Despite an injury to talisman Sadio Mane on the eve of the tournament in Qatar, Senegal reached the knockout stages for only the second time in their history when they finished runners-up in Group A behind the Netherlands.

And their supporters have earned a whole host of new fans for the vivid and musical atmosphere they create.
One man, however, who appears to have been less taken by the West African faithful is Keane. Never one to mince his words, the former Manchester United captain-turned-pundit was typically blasé when commenting on wave of Senegalese support going on beneath them in the ITV studio.
Presenter Mark Pougatch said: “They’ve got fantastic support down here. The vivid colours, the noise, the music, the sense of occasion…”

Former England and Arsenal striker Ian Wright concurred: “Unbelievable. They haven’t stopped since we got here.”
Keane, however, quickly gave his two cents, adding: “Very annoying. It’s getting on my nerves.”
Pougatch then responded: “It’s very lovely, Roy, it’s a World Cup…”
To which Keane replied: “Oh, it is, it’s lovely – but it’s annoying…”
Fans online have reacted to Keane's remark, admitting they expected nothing less.

While someone put: "I'm siding with Keane after 30 mins of the game."
After a shaky start to the game, England finally found their feet before the half-time break, scoring two goals in ten minutes courtesy of Jordan Henderson and captain Harry Kane.

Bukayo Saka then added a third from a Phil Foden cross in the second half to send the Three Lions into a mouth-watering quarter-final clash with current World Cup holders France on Saturday.
France defeated Poland 3-1 earlier on Sunday. Olivier Giroud became Les Bleus' all-time top goalscorer in the first half before Kylian Mbappe grabbed a brace in the second. Robert Lewandowski scored a consolation penalty in added time.
