England fans decide who should take penalties if Senegal game goes to a shootout

England face Senegal in the last 16 of the World Cup.

England fans have decided who should take penalties if their World Cup last 16 match against Senegal goes to a shootout.

The Three Lions topped Group B after beating Wales 3-0 on Tuesday, setting up a showdown against the Africa Cup of Nations champions.

It will be England's first knockout game of the tournament, which means they could face a penalty shootout should the game go all the way.

And SPORTbible asked users to pick the five England penalty takers if their next World Cup match goes to penalties.

Unsurprisingly, Harry Kane, England's first-choice penalty taker, received the most votes ahead of Harry Maguire, who smashed home a superb penalty against Italy in the Euro 2020 final.

Marcus Rashford, who missed a penalty last summer, comes in third place ahead of Kieran Trippier and Bukayo Saka, who also missed a penalty against Italy.

Phil Foden, Jude Bellingham and Jordan Henderson received the most votes outside of the top five.

Check out the full results below:

Harry Kane: 163

Harry Maguire: 128

Marcus Rashford: 115

Kieran Trippier: 112

Bukayo Saka: 97

Phil Foden: 56

Raheem Sterling: 25

Callum Wilson: 20

Eric Dier: 10

England have yet to be awarded a penalty this tournament ahead of potentially being involved in a shootout on Sunday.

But, before the World Cup, Gareth Southgate revealed his squad were already practicing penalties.

"We are in a good physical rhythm. We are practising penalties," he said.

"Harry would practice them before every game. It is part of what we do before tournaments anyway."

Who should England's first five penalty takers be if the game against Senegal goes to a shootout? Let us know.
