England fans are demanding that a shock manager replace Gareth Southgate ahead of Euro 2024.

On Tuesday, Jude Bellingham netted a stoppage-time equaliser to see England claim a deserved 2-2 draw against Belgium at Wembley.

The friendly featured first starts for the likes of Kobbie Mainoo, Ivan Toney and Ezri Konsa amid an injury crisis that saw Harry Kane, Bukayo Saka and Kyle Walker all absent and John Stones limp off early in the first half.

And while the majority of players drafted in impressed, the error-strewn defensive performance has provided Southgate with much food for thought, with just two friendlies remaining ahead of England's opening game at the European Championships in Germany.

While England remain among the Euro 2024, questions also remain about Southgate’s suitability as manager, with the 53-year-old having recorded just seven wins, seven draws and 11 defeats against top 10 nations.

A contingent of supporters on social media are even demanding that Jose Mourinho take over from Southgate ahead of the summer.

Writing on X, one fan said: “Southgate needs the sack stick. Mourinho wins the Euros easy with this squad.”

Another wrote: “Put Mourinho in charge. You win the Euros. Simple as that.”

A third said: “Get Southgate gone. Serial winner in Mourinho is sitting on a beach waiting.”

After England’s tepid 1-0 defeat to Brazil on Saturday, another wrote: “Have absolutely no faith Gareth Southgate will lead this England squad to glory.

“Get Jose Mourinho in. It won’t be pretty, we won’t win many fans from overseas. But through some tight 1-0 wins, a bit of luck and some winning mentality and belief, he could win us the Euros.”

Mourinho has been out of work since January when he was sacked by Serie A side Roma. Indeed, the 61-year-old has been sacked from his last four managerial jobs {Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham, Roma.)
