Paddy Power have paid out on Erik ten Hag being the first Premier League manager to get sacked this season after Manchester United's 4-0 humiliation at the hands of Brentford.

Thomas Frank's side put United to the sword with four goals inside 35 minutes at the Brentford Community Stadium on Saturday evening.

It means United are winless in their first two games of the campaign and they sit bottom of the table for the first time since August 1992.

Betting giants Paddy Power have seen enough already and aren't convinced ten Hag will last in English football.

Their tweet reads: "With Man Utd losing 4-0 at half time to Brentford, we have PAID OUT on Erik Ten Hag to be the first Premier League manager to get the sack."

United finished sixth in the Premier League last term and finished with 58 points, their lowest-ever tally.

Ten Hag arrived from Ajax with a track record of success and ability to improve players.

He's made three signings so far in the form of Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez, but anticipates more arrivals in the next few weeks.

Brentford started on the front foot and took the lead through Josh Dasilva 10 minutes in, although United goalkeeper David de Gea should've done more with his effort.

Dasilva hit a speculative effort from distance which was straight at de Gea.

Despite that, the Spain international let the ball squirm from his grasp and it rolled into the net.

The Bees were two up eight minutes later and de Gea once again played a part in his side's demise.

He played a short pass to Christian Eriksen, who was dispossessed by Mathias Jensen who turned home with ease.

Summer signing Ben Mee made it three from a corner on the half hour mark after managing to bully Martinez.

United attempted to get back into the game and they were undone on the counter for the fourth.

Jensen snatched the ball from Jadon Sancho in his own box before playing it out to Ivan Toney, who found Bryan Mbeumo.

The 23-year-old took the pass in his stride and held off Luke Shaw to complete the rout.
