Erik ten Hag has been told that Marcel Sabitzer is the 'most unpleasant person to be around when's he's not playing' following his move to Manchester United.

Ten Hag snapped up Sabitzer on a loan deal until the end of the season from Bayern Munich after discovering the extent of Christian Eriksen's injury that he suffered from a tackle by Andy Carroll.

Sabitzer joins the Red Devils having amassed an extensive amount of experience in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig and Bayern.

And the Man United boss has been warned that his new midfielder is the 'most unpleasant person to be person when he's not playing' and 'hates it when he loses'.

That's according to the player's agent Roger Wittmann, who described his mentality as a 'killer' and claimed he 'always wants to win'.

Wittmann said via Goal: "[He’s] the most unpleasant person to be around when he’s not playing.

“He hates it when he loses. That’s the bottom line. Character-wise, the kid is a killer.

"That’s what players who always want to win look like."

Sabitzer could be available for Man United when they resume their Premier League campaign on Saturday against Crystal Palace.

He's played 24 games in all competitions for Bayern this season, proving he's match-fit.

The Austrian midfielder echoed his agent's comments and referenced his mentality after moving to Old Trafford.

"Sometimes in life you have to make quick and important decisions. From the moment I heard about this opportunity I knew it was right for me," he said.

"I am a competitive player; I want to win and help the club achieve its aims this season.

"I feel that I am at my peak as a player and that I can contribute a lot of experience and energy to the squad. I am excited to start with my new teammates and manager and to show my qualities to Manchester United fans."
