Erling Haaland is happy Phil Foden 'finally' passed to him

Haaland scored a his hat-trick against Crystal Palace thanks to Foden's assist, which made a change according to the striker.

Erling Haaland revealed his relief that Phil Foden 'finally' passed to him, as he scored a hat-trick against Crystal Palace, as you can see in the video below.

When Haaland first joined Manchester City he was asked about linking up with Foden, already considered one of the most talented midfielders in the world despite his young age.

The Norwegian wasn't quite as effusive with his praise for the England star as many, pointing out that the 22-year-old 'still has to develop.'

Last weekend it certainly looked like Haaland might have had a point, as Foden failed to pass to his new teammate, instead choosing to shoot in the game against Newcastle United.

At the time, Pep Guardiola's team were 1-0 up and without Foden's poor decision making would have surely doubled their lead, before going on to drop two points in a 3-3 draw.

On Saturday, Haaland was really needed to dig his side out of a hole, as they went 2-0 down against their bogey side, Palace, before turning things around.

The former Borussia Dortmund striker grabbed three goals, to go with Bernardo Silva's first for the hosts, with Foden's cross finding him for his first goal of the day.

Asked about the first goal, and his link up with Foden, Haaland cheekily said 'finally Phil played the ball to me, so really good feeling this."

It certainly came at an important time. John Stones scored an own goal after just four minutes and Joachim Andersen, still beaming from his domination of Darwin Nunez a few weeks ago, doubled the lead just after 20 minutes.

Palace have twice surprised City at the Etihad in recent years and they may have had a third goal, but it was controversially disallowed.

That gave the Premier League champions the perfect chance to launch a second half comeback, with Silva, still being linked with Barcelona, scoring in the 53rd minute.

Foden's assist then set up Haaland for the equaliser just after the hour mark, and from there it always felt like there'd only be one winner.

Stones mishit from Silva's cross fell to the Norwegian to score in the 70th minute, to put the hosts ahead, and 11 minutes later he completed the scoring, following Ilkay Gundogan's pass, showing off his incredible strength.

Now he's getting passes from everyone, even Foden, lord knows how many passes he'll finish with.
