Erling Haaland shows off injuries from Brighton game, he was in the wars

Erling Haaland has showed off the injuries he suffered during Manchester City's 1-1 draw with Brighton on Wednesday night.

The Norwegian striker was restored to the starting lineup after a substitute appearance in the win over Chelsea but was unable to add to his ridiculous goals tally of 52 in all competitions.

Haaland, who has hit a record-breaking 36 goals in his debut Premier League campaign had two great chances in the first half from Phil Foden set-ups but turned provider when he unselfishly laid on assist for the England international to open the scoring.

The 22-year-old thought he had notched his 53rd strike of the campaign in the second half when he headed home from Cole Palmer's cross.

But after Simon Hooper was advised to go to the VAR screen, the goal was chalked off for a foul on Levi Colwill - much to the frustration of Pep Guardiola.

Haaland had pulled the shirt of the Chelsea loanee but he himself was subjected to some rough treatment at the AMEX Stadium.

The former Borussia Dortmund man took to Instagram to post a picture of his Nike dunks in the changing room, with the caption, "Love these" and two fire emojis.

However, it wasn't the trainers which everybody was talking about. Fans noticed that Haaland had three large bloody marks on his right leg, presumably as a result of some tasty challenges during the clash.

Brighton defender Jan Paul van Hecke in particular tried to get extremely physical with Haaland and was booked for hauling him down in cynical fashion in the second half.

It's the first time in just a matter of weeks that Haaland has showed off his scars. Guardiola fumed over Yerry Mina's treatment of Haaland, who had scratches and bruises all over his body when he handed over his shirt after the 3-0 win over Everton at Goodison Park.

A furious Guardiola said, “There are things that are not necessary to do that he does" and encouraged media to "invite him to the press conference".

Haaland won't mind the marks on his body too much if he ends his first season at City with a treble as the Blues look to match Manchester United's 1999 achievement.
