Erling Haaland mocked Spurs by singing about Manchester City "tearing cockneys apart" after they came from 2-0 down to beat Antonio Conte's side 4-2.

The Premier League champions were trailing 2-0 at half-time and heading towards a third consecutive defeat after goals from Dejan Kulusevski and Emerson Royal.

But City turned it around in the second half thanks to strikes from Haaland, Julian Alvarez and a brace from Riyad Mahrez.

The result moved City within five points of Arsenal, who host third-placed Manchester United at the Emirates on Sunday.

It was a huge win for City and Haaland, with 22 goals in the Premier League this term, lapped up the post-match celebrations.

After the final whistle sounded, the Sky Sports cameras filmed the big Norwegian in the centre circle as he embraced his teammates.

The song, 'Love Will Tear Us Apart Again' by Manchester band Joy Division was blasted out over the speakers.

It's been adapted to "tearing cockneys apart again" by City fans, who belt it out whenever they play a team from the capital.

And not for the first time, boyhood City fan Haaland was heard joining in - leaving supporters in hysterics.

The former Borussia Dortmund and Red Bull Salzburg man appears to know all the songs and was heard singing the chant in the tunnel after City beat Chelsea 4-0 in the FA Cup.

Haaland himself was subjected to chants about his dad Alf-Inge and Roy Keane in Saturday's derby defeat to United.

He went three games without finding the net in a mini barren run for the striker, but hit his first goal in 2023 to level against Spurs.

Some boos were heard at half-time when City were losing A fired up Pep Guardiola called out his players and fans to do more as they look to knock off Arsenal and claim a third consecutive league title.

"[Lacking in] Guts, passion, fire, desire to win from minute one," he said on Sky Sports.

"The same with the fans, they are silent for 45 minutes. I want my fans back!

“We are far, far away from being able to compete at the highest level.”
