The incredible moment Everton fan forgets he has a son while trying to hug Anthony Gordon

The incredible moment Everton fan forgets he has a son while trying to hug Anthony Gordon

The Everton fan dropped his son as he tried to embrace Anthony Gordon at Elland Road.

An Everton fan appeared to momentarily forget he had a son as he rushed to hug Anthony Gordon on Tuesday night.

Despite intense speculation surrounding his future, Gordon scored for the second game running as Everton drew 1-1 with Leeds at Elland Road.

Gordon slipped in the opener before before Luis Sinisterra equalised with his first goal for the club in the second half, with Everton still searching for their first win.

Afterwards, Gordon walked over to the travelling fans and a young fan jumped off the advertising hoardings and over to him.

He was stopped by the stewards and escorted back to what looked to be his father. Gordon looked concern for the young lad and ended up giving him his shirt from the game.

But briefly before that, the dad pretty much dropped his lad so he could embrace the academy graduate. The video went viral on social media as a result.

Shortly after a picture of the young Toffees fan outside the ground with Gordon's shirt on, was posted online so it seems his night wasn't too bad at all.

Gordon has been the subject of strong interest from Chelsea, who had a £40 million bid for him turned down.

And Everton boss Frank Lampard has told his former club that the 21-year-old is not for sale as we approach the transfer deadline.

"No, Anthony is too important a player. It is too late," Lampard said when asked if Gordon could be in line for a late switch.

“You saw the reasons why in the last two games, He is a very good player and will get better and better. In the bigger picture, he has an affiliation with the fans. The interest in him is because he is a top player and why we are so keen to keep him.”
