Everton Fan Attempts To Get At Rafa Benitez In Shocking Scenes, Is Hauled Away By Security

An Everton fan attempted to get into the dugout and go face to face with manager Rafa Benitez during their abysmal first half performance vs Norwich City. Check out footage of the incident below.

The Toffees are on a wretched run of form and started the afternoon just eight points above the relegation zone.

Norwich raced to a 2-0 lead and it got too much for one fan in the Carrow Road away end, who went onto the pitch to try and approach Benitez.

Luckily, security were on hand to stop the fan and immediately took him away.

Dean Smith's side took the lead inside 16 minutes through a Michael Keane own goal, who turned Josh Sargent's cross into his own net.

Two minutes later, the Canaries doubled their advantage after Brandon Williams intercepted a loose Seamus Coleman pass.

The on-loan Manchester United full-back marauded into the Everton half and laid off a lovely pass to Adam Idah, who dinked past Jordan Pickford.

Benitez has added Vitaliy Mykolenko and Nathan Patterson to his defence in January and Anwar El-Ghazi has arrived on loan from Aston Villa.

Lucas Digne joined the Villains however after an alleged falling out with Benitez, which has angered fans.

Digne addressed his departure on social media and said it 'only takes one person from outside to destroy a beautiful love affair.'

Benitez furiously hit back in his press conference on Friday, stating: "I am the manager and I take the responsibilities of my decisions.

"It is to think of the team and the future of the club, and we have to move forward and think about that.

"If you're in a boat and someone is not rowing with the strength that you are expecting then you have to make your decision.

"The realities are when you have a player that is thinking to leave and then you have an offer, a possibility. We brought in a couple of good young players, hungry players. I'm sure they will be good now and better in the future."

The Spaniard also brought up Digne being 29-years-old and he believes the fee of £25 million was a fair price.
