For teams lower down the pyramid, qualifying for this stage gives them a chance of drawing a plum tie at Old Trafford, Anfield or others, allowing for much-needed club revenue and a day that fans will never forget.

The defending champions of the FA Cup are Liverpool. The Reds have lost in the third round on four occasions in this century, and will hope not to make it a fifth this season.

All ties will take place across the weekend of Friday, January 6 - Monday, January 9.

The 2022/23 FA Cup third round draw will take place at 7pm UK time. It will be held at Anfield, the home of Liverpool, and will be completed before the final two fixtures of the second round get underway.
