Fabinho's Wife Aims Jibe At Manchester City With 'Just Some Things Oil Can't Buy Tweet' After Liverpool Parade

Fabinho's Wife Aims Jibe At Manchester City With 'Just Some Things Oil Can't Buy Tweet' After Liverpool Parade

Fabinho's wife, Rebeca Tavares, aimed a dig at Manchester City after 500,000 fans turned out for Liverpool's open-top bus parade.

Fabinho's wife has aimed a jibe at Manchester City following Liverpool's bus parade on Monday night.

Despite losing out on both the Premier League and Champions League in the final stretch of the season, Liverpool held a celebration around the city to mark the Carabao Cup and FA Cup wins.

The parade came a day after Jurgen Klopp's side were beaten 1-0 by Real Madrid in the Champions League final at the Stade de France in Paris.

But an estimated 500,000 packed the streets of Liverpool to recognise the domestic cup triumphs.

And Fabinho's other half, Rebeca Tavares, who is very active on Twitter - decided to have a dig at Premier League winners City.

Initially, she posted an image - which was actually from the 2019 Champions League parade - with the caption: " We are Liverpool, this means more! See you next season red family. Thank you for your support."

And then came the apparent snar at City and more specifically their Abu Dhabi ownership.

"‘There are just some things oil can’t buy," Tavares wrote in a reply to her tweet.

After backlash to the comment, she posted again, saying: "My hobby right now it’s read haters comments in my tweets [three laughing emojis] THE TRUTH HURTS!!!!"

The parade started on Queens Drive in the Allerton area and after passing the famous Jolly Miller pub, both the men's and women's team buses made their way to the city centre.

Klopp had encouraged Liverpool supporters to come out and show support for the team, who lost just four times in 63 games in all competitions.

They did just that and while on the bus, having consumed a few beers, Klopp hailed the fans.

"There’s no club in the world where it happens that you lose the Champions League final the night before and the people arrive here in the shape they are, the mood they are, absolutely outstanding,” the German said.

“This is the best club in the world, I don’t care what other people think.”
