Fans Think Pep Guardiola Was 'Overthinking' While Watching Carlo Ancelotti's Pre-Match Interview

Fans Think Pep Guardiola Was 'Overthinking' While Watching Carlo Ancelotti's Pre-Match Interview

What did Carlo Ancelotti say to make Pep act like this?

Cameras spotted Pep Guardiola watching Carlo Ancelotti's pre-match interview ahead of Manchester City's Champions League semi-final clash against Real Madrid on Wednesday night – and it has got fans talking.

In footage posted by BT Sport, the Spaniard was sat in the Bernabeu dugout when he was caught listening in on Ancelotti's media duties ahead of tonight's crunch second leg.

After the camera zoomed in on Guardiola looking deep in thought, the former Barcelona man puts his hands to his head. What did Ancelotti say to make him act like this?

It's not yet clear what Ancelotti said, although Twitter account @theMadridZone claim the Italian showed his Los Blancos team a "very beautiful" motivational video ahead of kick-off.

Guardiola's actions have certainly got people talking on social media. One fan said: "Pep’s overthinking again," while another commented: "oh no he’s overthinking again."

A third wrote: "He just put one eyebrow up and Pep’s gone into overthink mode."

In his pre-match press conference, Guardiola praised his opposition manager for winning La Liga at the weekend.

"Congratulations to him for winning the Spanish league, I did it, he did it last week. I admire him, he's been all over the world, big football countries and fantastic teams. Always incredibly tough, the football is really good."

The 51-year-old added: "Part of that is he's an exceptional person. I met him years ago and every time with him he's calm and controls his emotions perfectly."

Ahead of Wednesday's clash at the Bernabeu, former Everton boss Ancelotti said he is confident of completing a comeback against the Premier League leaders to reach the Champions League final.

"We have scored three goals against Paris St Germain, five against Chelsea and three against Manchester City," he said.

“Sometimes you have to take a little risk but we have the quality to do it.

“They have the advantage and we have to improve. It is difficult but we have an incredible opportunity to play another final after having won LaLiga."

The winners will, of course, face Liverpool in the final after Jurgen Klopp's side picked up a 5-2 aggregate win against Villarreal.
