Mesut Ozil's time at Fenerbache has come to an end, just 18 months into his deal, after Fenerbahce terminated the former Arsenal midfielder's contract.
It is just a year and a half ago since the World Cup winner ended his dismal time in north London to get what, at the time, was a dream move for all involved.

However, his time at Fenerbahce has not gone smoothly at all and back in March he was suspended by the club indefinitely, over claims he was 'physically competent.'
Ozil had captained the team just days before, in a 2-1 win over then second-placed Konyaspor but he was taken off at half-time, following an argument with the manager.
Whilst the former Real Madrid star still claimed he supported the team, he wasn't seen in a shirt after the suspension, and now his time at the club is over.
On Monday, NTVSpor, reported that the 33-year-old's contract at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium had been terminated by the club, although one report also said it was by mutual termination.
Whilst the problems first surfaced under the team's interim manager, new boss Jorge Jesus also had no interest in bringing the German back into the team.

"He had his time, his space. He has a beautiful history in Turkey, no one can take it away from him," the new manager said recently.
"He is a well-known player around the world. But I will follow exactly what was the end of the Ozil era. The most important thing here is Fenerbahce and it is from there that I build my ideas and the players who come to work with me."
He made just 36 appearances for the club, scoring nine times and also getting three assists.
Ozil, who was still having a large chunk of his wages paid by Arsenal at the beginning of his time in the Super Lig, might move away from football altogether.

Ozil's agent, Dr Erkut Sogut, explained back in June that the midfielder was going to be turning his attention away from the sport and towards gaming.
"I think he will not play football in any other club any more. I can't see that – it will be Fenerbahce and that’s it," the agent said.
"He will go more into esports, play himself and maybe become an esports athlete. He’s really good, to be honest, at Fortnite and I think one day I wouldn’t be surprised if he is competing."
Having been a world class player, who won the World Cup, it's sad to see how things ended at both Arsenal and now Fenerbahce.
